Optimist Festival, March 23rd, 2017

Regina Downtowner’s Optimist Festival, Thursday, March 23rd

The band students are travelling to Regina via school bus to attend the annual festival. Grade 6 students need to be dropped off at St. Margaret’s by 7:50 a.m. so that we can take attendance and be on the road by 8:00 a.m. We have a 9:30 a.m. performance, and if you happen to be in Regina, you should come to the Conexus Arts Centre and have a listen. There is a $5 admission fee for the day.

Grade 6’s should bring their instrument, music, school bag, bagged lunch and a snack, and a water bottle. They should be wearing white on the top and black on the bottom. Permission forms are due when they get on the bus, as are picture order forms (optional–I will send the picture order form home next week, along with the permission form).

The grade 6’s will be bussed back to Moose Jaw and will be dropped off at their schools over the lunch hour.  They will have a regular day at school that afternoon.

The grade 7/8’s will be picked up over the lunch hour. They should have their instrument, music, snack, water bottle, permission form, picture order form (optional), and money for a bite to eat at the mall. Their performance is at 4:00 p.m., and if you are in Regina, you should swing by and hear them perform. They will be returning to Moose Jaw for a 7 p.m. parent pick up in the Town and Country Mall parking lot (near Zellers).

I would discourage electronics from being brought, as the students are not allowed to bring electronics on stage, and therefore must leave them with their coats and cases, an area that is not supervised. If something goes missing the Holy Trinity school division can not be held responsible. Electronics are brought at the students’ own risk.

Good Luck Holy Trinity Band Students!
